1. What this policy covers
This policy explains cookies and similar technologies on the SecurePath Locksmith Westminster website. It covers the storage written by our own code, the external form and map services, and what the cookie information notice does. For personal information, purposes, retention criteria and your rights, read our privacy policy.
A cookie is a small value a website can ask a browser to store and return with later requests. Session cookies normally last for a browsing session; persistent cookies can remain until they expire or are deleted. Local storage is a different browser feature that keeps values for a website between visits. It does not automatically expire unless the site implements an expiry rule or the browser removes it.
First-party storage relates to the website you are visiting. Third-party services can use their own storage when they are embedded into a page, subject to browser settings. A connection to an external service can disclose an IP address and request information even if cookies are blocked.
2. Storage written by our website
The following is the browser-storage item explicitly written by our own website JavaScript. Its purpose is to remember that the cookie information notice has been acknowledged.
| Item and provider | Purpose and value | Duration and control |
|---|---|---|
securepath_cookie_notice_v1SecurePath website; local storage | A timestamp saved when you select “Got it”. The site reads it on later visits to decide whether to show the notice. It contains no form answers, name, telephone number or email address. | Recognised for 180 days after acknowledgement. On a later visit, an expired value is removed and the notice appears again. Clearing this website’s browser data removes it sooner. |
This preference is specific to a browser profile and website origin. A different browser, private browsing session, device or preview domain may show the notice separately. If browser storage is unavailable, you can still dismiss the notice for the current page, but that choice may not be remembered when you visit another page.
The website code does not add a separate analytics platform, advertising pixel or cross-site marketing identifier. This is not a statement that embedded providers are cookie-free. Hosting infrastructure and external services operate separately from the first-party code described in this table.
3. Embedded providers and their technologies
The services below are included in the supplied website or form. Their technical behaviour can depend on provider updates, account settings, your browser, existing provider cookies and whether you are signed in to an account. Names and expiry values for every third-party item cannot be inferred from the form’s script URL alone.
| Service | Where and when it loads | Purpose and further information |
|---|---|---|
| Jotform and its delivery services | Automatically on the home, about, services, contact, quote and ten location pages | Display, validation and submission of the enquiry form, including enabled security and supporting features. See Jotform’s privacy policy. |
| Google reCAPTCHA within the form | Included in the supplied Jotform human-verification feature | Help distinguish human use from automated abuse. Google documents a necessary risk-analysis cookie named _GRECAPTCHA. See Google’s reCAPTCHA guidance. |
| Jotform page-source widget | Included in the supplied form | Can obtain the containing page’s URL for the enquiry workflow. It is listed for transparency about this feature; a URL collection feature does not by itself establish a particular cookie name or lifetime. |
| Google Maps | On the contact page; the browser may delay this lazy-loaded embed until it approaches the visible area | Display the supplied business map. Google may use cookies and similar technologies under its cookie information and privacy policy. |
Jotform and verification
The form script loads regardless of the notice acknowledgement. Jotform can receive technical request information before you type or submit an enquiry. Submitting sends the entered information through the form service. reCAPTCHA may use technical signals and browser storage as part of verification. A provider’s privacy notice explains its processing more broadly than a list of cookies alone.
Google Maps
The map is also independent of the notice. Loading it sends a request to Google, and Google may recognise existing cookies or an account session where browser settings allow. Clicking through to Google Maps opens a separate service with its own controls. The exact storage present can vary between visitors.
The table is a description of integrations and the first-party storage is listed separately. It is not a guarantee that third-party names or lifetimes will never change. Provider documentation and your browser’s website-data view offer information about the items currently in use.
4. What the cookie information notice does
The notice appears on every type of page until it is acknowledged, subject to the 180-day rule above. Selecting “Got it” closes the notice and saves the timestamp. It does not give consent to optional cookies, block or unblock the form or map, change provider account preferences, or delete storage a provider has already set.
Select “Cookie information” in the footer to reopen the notice on any page. Reopening it does not delete the saved timestamp. Acknowledging it again saves a new timestamp. There is no “accept all”, “reject all” or category-management control in this notice.
UK rules govern storing or accessing information on a device. Consent is required where no applicable exception permits that use; acknowledging an information message is not a substitute for consent. See the ICO’s guidance on storage and access technologies. The notice describes the implementation and should not be interpreted as changing those requirements.
5. Managing cookies and website data
Use your browser’s privacy or website-data settings to inspect stored data, remove cookies and local storage, restrict third-party cookies, or set site-specific permissions where supported. Menu names differ by browser and version; look for “Privacy”, “Cookies”, “Site data” or “Tracking protection” in its settings or help.
- To reset our notice, remove the website’s local storage or clear its site data. The notice should return when you next open a page.
- To manage provider cookies, review data for the relevant Jotform and Google domains as well as this website. Removing only our acknowledgement does not remove their cookies.
- To limit future storage, adjust browser permissions before visiting. Blocking storage may affect form validation, human verification, submission or map controls.
- For Google account-related choices, use the controls described in Google’s policies. A change here does not change settings inside your Google account.
Blocking cookies does not necessarily stop a service from loading or prevent all technical data processing. If the embedded form is unavailable, you can call 020 8087 1694 or email info@securepathlocksmithwestminster.co.uk. The “open form in a new tab” link goes directly to Jotform and remains subject to that provider’s processing.
